Where Accountability Meets Compassion And Real Change Begins

Addiction Counseling

Trauma and addiction are deeply interconnected. Many individuals who struggle with substance use are not simply battling a behavior — they are coping with unresolved trauma, chronic stress activation, attachment wounds, or experiences that overwhelmed their nervous system. Addiction is often an attempt to regulate pain, numb emotional intensity, or escape intrusive memories. When we treat addiction without addressing trauma, relapse risk remains high. When we treat trauma without stabilizing addictive behaviors, the nervous system may become dysregulated and unsafe.

At Ayana Healing & Recovery, trauma and addiction are approached together — thoughtfully, ethically, and in a structured manner.

Ronnyah Hamilton, LPC, LAC, EMDR, NCC, MS

Founder of Ayana Healing & Recovery

Healing is not about perfection. It is about courage , the courage to look at what hurts, to take accountability where needed, and to build something healthier from the inside out.

I am Ronnyah Hamilton, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and the founder of Ayana Healing & Recovery. My work is rooted in trauma-informed care, addiction recovery, emotional regulation, and deep personal transformation. I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, relational wounds, identity struggles, and life transitions. Many of the clients I serve are high-functioning on the outside yet privately battling emotional pain, shame, or patterns they feel stuck in.

My approach to therapy is direct, compassionate, and grounded in both clinical rigor and human understanding. I believe healing happens when clients feel both safe and challenged — supported without being coddled, accountable without being shamed. I integrate evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused approaches, motivational interviewing, and skills-based interventions to help clients build practical tools for real life. Therapy with me is not passive. It is collaborative, intentional, and growth-oriented.

At Ayana Healing & Recovery, I work with adults, families, and individuals in recovery who are ready to do meaningful work. Whether someone is rebuilding after addiction, untangling trauma, navigating complex family systems, or seeking clarity in relationships, I focus on strengthening emotional resilience, increasing self-awareness, and restoring a sense of personal agency. I am particularly passionate about helping clients understand the neurobiology of trauma and addiction so they can approach themselves with informed compassion instead of self-judgment.

My professional philosophy centers on integrity. I value healthy boundaries, clinical excellence, and ethical practice. I believe in meeting clients where they are — culturally, spiritually, emotionally — while also guiding them toward where they want to be. Healing is not linear. It involves setbacks, growth spurts, difficult truths, and small victories. My role is to walk alongside clients with steadiness, clarity, and belief in their capacity for change.

Above all, I believe that recovery and healing are possible. Not because life becomes easier, but because people become stronger, more regulated, and more aligned with who they truly are. Ayana Healing & Recovery was built on the belief that transformation is not reserved for the fortunate — it is available to those willing to do the work.

If you are ready to begin or deepen your healing process, I would be honored to support you.
